Andritz wins €100 million contract in China

Andritz has announced a €100 million order from the Hunan Tiger Forest & Paper Group to supply equipment for the Tiger Group’s pulp mill in Huaihan, Hunan Province.

The new mill, which is planned to start up in early 2008, is to produce 400,000 t/yr of bleached kraft pulp. Raw material is to come from 140,000 hectares of plantations, supplying 70% softwood (masson pine and fir) and 30% hardwood (alder, poplar and eucalyptus).

Tiger Forest & Paper Group was awarded approval to build the pulp mill in March 2006. The total cost of the project is about US$540 million (US$394 million for the pulp mill US$146 million for the plantations.
